What to know about the 8HP in a Maserati Ghibli, Levante and Quattroporte
- ZF's service instructions check the 8HP's oil level with the fluid at 30–50 °C on most cars, but at 50–60 °C on a Maserati. Set it at the wrong temperature and the level is wrong. We read the temperature from live data rather than guess.[8]

Is the Levante's gearbox the same as the Ghibli's?
The same ZF eight-speed family. The Levante adds Q4 four-wheel drive. The service is the same; parts are confirmed for your car by VIN.
My Quattroporte clunks into reverse. Will a service help?
Sometimes — old fluid and old learned values can make engagements harsher, and a service with an adaptation reset can improve them. It can also be a mount or a mechanical issue. We check before and after with live data and tell you what we find.
